Atlanta Cracks Down On Short-Term Rentals, Is This Going To Kill The Potential Profit For Airbnb, VRBO, Etc.

As of April 1st, Airbnb owners have to follow a new set of guidelines put in place by the city of Atlanta. These new guidelines will impose some serious implications to new and existing Airbnb owners. The question on a lot of peoples minds is going to be, how thin is this going to squeeze my margins?? If you are thinking about investing in another Airbnb property here in Atlanta, I would make sure you know what you are doing first...double and triple check your numbers!!

Here is the listing of new implications set by the city:

Now owners must obtain a permit for each short-term rental ($150 each, per year)
You can only have 2 & 1 of them must be a primary residence
A maximum of two adults per bedroom
You must be a resident of Atlanta
On top of all that, an 8% "hotel tax"
