The Gathering at South Forsyth will be the LARGEST Mixed-use development in the state..& Home to the New Atlanta Hockey Team?
Forsyth county has been one the fastest growing counties in the state over the past few years. Between 2000 & 2019, Forsyth grew 132% compared to the 27% population growth of all of Georgia. This has spurred developments such as Halcyon & the re-development of downtown Cumming. While that has all been exciting for residents and great for property values, this will be the biggest of them all.
This development would be one of the largest live-work-play developments our state has ever seen. Rivaling the likes of the Battery. To do so, developers plan to spends billions on the development, and over a billion building out a state of the art arena. It is being speculated they are doing so to attract a national hockey team back to the state. This is not a guarantee of course but to quote the Forsyth county commissioner, “We believe that they build it, everyone will come”.
This simply marks the first step in filing the plans to build this massive development. However, they said once approved and the first shovel is in the ground, construction will take about 3 years and BILLIONS of dollars in investment to get it completed.
This is huge for Forsyth county residents and all others surrounding areas. A huge signal to investors that want to get in on the next big development play. If this takes off, mark my words, we will be the next Battery/ OR Avalon here in south Forsyth.
Here is where it will be:Posted by Carson Hulak on
