Rates Continue To Soar, Hitting An Average Of 5%, With No Signs Of Slowing Down Just Yet!

You have likely seen the headline on any and every news article, that mortgage rates are on the rise. Rates just hit an average of 5%, just about double compared to the lows of December 2020 when they reached a low of 2.68%. Unfortunately, rates only seem to be going up from here; Given that the 10-year treasury bond is approaching 3%, mark my words they will hit an average of 6% before you know it. 

HOWEVER, with this all being said will there be a silver lining? With the spring housing market right around the corner it presents a great opportunity for a potential flip in the market. The question is will spring inventory and the lowered demand from rising rates create a pause in the frenzy? 

Only time will tell and if it proves to be anything like the short term dip in 2019, you better be ready to jump and capitalize if that opportunity does present itself.
